Summary
The Research Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting research projects from initiation through completion. This role ensures that research activities are conducted in accordance with study protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. The Research Coordinator works closely with principal investigators, research staff, participants, and external partners to ensure high-quality data collection, compliance, and timely project execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as determined by OOMC Management.
- Coordinate day-to-day operations of research studies and projects
- Assist with study start-up activities, including protocol development, ethics/IRB submissions, and regulatory documentation
- Recruit, screen, enroll, and consent study participants (if applicable)
- Schedule study visits, data collection activities, and follow-ups
- Collect, enter, and maintain accurate research data in databases or case report forms
- Ensure compliance with study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and institutional policies
- Maintain study files, regulatory binders, and documentation
- Monitor study progress and report deviations, adverse events, or issues as required
- Communicate effectively with investigators, sponsors, collaborators, and participants
- Assist with budget tracking, invoices, and resource coordination (as applicable)
- Support data analysis, manuscript preparation, and dissemination of findings
- Prepare progress reports and assist with grant or sponsor reporting
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., health sciences, social sciences, biology, public health)
- Experience in research coordination, data collection, or project management
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
