Seeking a Full-Time Fluorescein Angiography Technician/Ophthalmic Technician to work primarily out of our Elmwood Park office, with support to other locations as needed. Travel up to 30 miles from the home office may be required. This is a day-shift position, Monday through Friday.
Position Summary
The Fluorescein Angiography Technician is responsible for performing and assisting with fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography procedures, as well as providing comprehensive ophthalmic technician support. This role plays a critical part in diagnosing and managing retinal and other ophthalmic conditions through high-quality imaging and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography, including dye injection and retinal image capture
- Obtain high-quality retinal images using specialized ophthalmic imaging equipment
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort and safety
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot retinal imaging equipment (e.g., fundus cameras)
- Accurately document patient information, procedures, and test results
- Ensure image quality and adherence to safety and clinical protocols
- Work up patients for retina and other ophthalmic specialties, as retina is not seen daily
- Perform additional diagnostic testing, including:
- OCT
- A/B/E Scan
- Pentacam
- IOL measurements
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and clinical staff to support patient care
Qualifications & Skills
- Certified Phlebotomist (required)
- Strong technical proficiency in fluorescein angiography and retinal imaging techniques
- Knowledge of retinal anatomy, pathology, and common retinal diseases
- Experience operating and maintaining ophthalmic diagnostic equipment
- Excellent attention to detail in image capture, documentation, and quality control
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Bilingual candidates are a plus

The salary range for this position will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and skill level, with final compensation determined based on qualifications and relevant expertise.
