Maintenance/Janitorial Worker

Position Summary:

This is a part-time, hourly position. The maintenance department services the Omni Banquet & Events Center. Functions include trash collection, floor work, furniture moving, replacing bulbs/filters, ordering supplies, etc. Hours vary but may include work during the evening or weekend.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Maintaining the building in a clean and orderly manner.

• Performs minor plumbing, electrical, painting, and minor repairs in buildings.

· Clean-up litter outside on the parking lot

· Facility set-up and breakdown, hauling and moving of tables, chairs and some equipment.

• Cleans banquet room, restrooms and common areas including but not limited to dusting, emptying trash receptacles, vacuuming, washing windows and cleaning carpet.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

· Knowledge of janitorial equipment, supplies, cleaning chemicals and their applications.

· Previous janitorial and maintenance experience required.

· General knowledge and respect of the Omni Center Staff

· Ability to perform outlined tasks with minimum supervision and be self –motivated.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality.

· Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.

· Ability to stand for long hours.

· Ability to climb ladders.

· Willingness to work a flexible schedule; evenings and/or weekend hours.

· On-call availability for emergencies.

· Must have own transportation, valid driver’s license.

· Must be able to work with Maintenance Supervisor, Administration, Faculty, other Maintenance Staff and Volunteers.

Salary: Minimum $18.50 to $20.00 /hour
