As our Structures Technician at McKinney National Airport (TKI), you will perform structural modifications, repairs, and avionics-related sheet metal installations on a variety of business jet airframes — fabricating parts, installing components, and returning aircraft to airworthy condition in accordance with manufacturer specifications, FAA requirements, and Omni’s approved procedures. You will work from drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals as part of a focused shop team where the standard is safe, compliant, and done right the first time.
■ What You’ll Do
Sheet Metal & Structural Work
- Assess aircraft structural condition and determine appropriate methods for repair, modification, or fabrication across a variety of sheet metal tasks.
- Install, modify, repair, and replace structural components per applicable drawings, blueprints, ADs, service directives, technical manuals, and safety procedures.
- Perform sheet metal bends to specifications and guidelines consistent with standard aviation practices.
- Remove existing rivets from aircraft structure and install replacement fasteners per engineering data.
- Fabricate components for aircraft applications using a variety of sheet metal materials and tooling.
- Fabricate and install sheet metal structures, doublers, and supporting components in support of avionics and interior modification projects.
- Identify and treat corrosion on aircraft structure per manufacturer and FAA-approved procedures.
- Operate shop tooling including press brakes, shears, rollers, grinders, drills, pneumatic squeezes, rivet guns, and other tools required to complete structural work.
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify fit, alignment, and dimensional accuracy.
- Work safely with and around chemicals; comply with all OSHA standards and PPE requirements.
- Apply sealants and protective coatings as required by applicable procedures and specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all shop safety protocols.
- Accurately document all work performed in accordance with Omni’s Repair Station Manual and Quality Department requirements.
- Read, interpret, and apply aircraft manuals, maintenance data, and regulatory requirements to all work performed.
- Comply with current Federal Aviation Regulations, as well as Repair Station and Quality Control Manual policies and procedures.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in precision sheet metal work, structural fabrication, or modification — aviation background preferred; candidates from other industries with transferable skills are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated ability to lay out, fabricate, repair, and assemble sheet metal to exacting standards.
- Ability to read and apply blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency with sheet metal shop tooling: press brakes, shears, rollers, grinders, drills, pneumatic squeezes, rivet guns, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative team player who is dependable, professional, and works well with others.
- Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate strongly preferred but not required.

- Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
