Patient intake Representative (Mandarin speaking)

Overview

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression
• Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and personal data
• Conduct insurance verification and explain coverage details to patients
• Assist with intake paperwork completion and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
• Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and timely care delivery
• Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette and provide exceptional customer service
• Maintain an organize and responsive environment
• Support billing processes by verifying insurance information

Qualifications

• Proven experience in administration or clinic reception roles with familiarity in EMR systems such as Micromerchant
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and insurance processes including Medicare verification
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software
• Ability to review documentation accurately while adhering to HIPAA standards for patient privacy and confidentiality
• Bilingual abilities (MANDARIN speaking) are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
• Prior experience in pharmacy or medical clinics is preferred; clinic experience is a plus
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry
• Strong communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor
• Ability to handle high-volume intake processes efficiently while maintaining accuracy under pressure
