Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and personal data
- Conduct insurance verification and explain coverage details to patients
- Assist with intake paperwork completion and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and timely care delivery
- Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette and provide exceptional customer service
- Maintain an organize and responsive environment
- Support billing processes by verifying insurance information
Qualifications
- Proven experience in administration or clinic reception roles with familiarity in EMR systems such as Micromerchant
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and insurance processes including Medicare verification
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software
- Ability to review documentation accurately while adhering to HIPAA standards for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Bilingual abilities (MANDARIN speaking) are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Prior experience in pharmacy or medical clinics is preferred; clinic experience is a plus
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry
- Strong communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor
- Ability to handle high-volume intake processes efficiently while maintaining accuracy under pressure
