What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lease Operator position at Omimex Energy Inc.?
We are currently accepting resumes for a natural gas Lease Operator in our field of operations located in the beautiful state of Michigan. We are looking to expand and grow our team with experienced and new operators alike.
The Lease Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of a specific, assigned group of wells. This individual will monitor daily production, equipment, and performance to ensure proper volumes are attained and maintained in the Bear Lake and Traverse area. Wage and level commensurate with experience.
The work schedule will be a rotating schedule approximately 40 plus hours per week. The position does require being scheduled for on-call nights, weekends, holidays and does include overtime compensation. The work environment is outdoors 90% of the time. The applicant would need to be able to withstand working in Northern Michigan outdoor conditions. Sitting and driving a pickup truck is 50% of the time including traveling to locations up to 150 miles per day. Applicants would need to be able to stand and walk 50% of the time.

General Accountabilities
- Measures and records production at the well site
- Provides routine maintenance checks to equipment and machinery.
- Conducts routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment and machinery.
- Reports changes in individual well performance
- Reports any concerns about the well, well site or equipment.
- Effectively communicates with production foreman and superintendents on operating issues or problems.
- Coordinates oil sales and water disposal.
- Treats oil to meet pipeline/equipment specifications.
- Assures operational compliance with governmental requirements and company policies.
- Must be familiar with the operation of POCs, rod pumps and flowing wells.
- Drives safely to and from wells and well sites.
- Must understand and perform all duties according to Company standard operating procedures and in compliance with all regulatory and EH&S guidelines.
- Complete required H2S training
- All other duties as assigned or based off business need.

- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Able to handle exposure to extreme weather conditions and areas where hazardous chemicals are present.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, kneel, stoop, sit and walk extensively.
- Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical, and to be able to meet all physical requirements of the job.
- Petroleum Production Certificate or similar education
- 1-year related experience
- 1 year oil and gas experience
