Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will play a vital role in the overall Human Resources functions to include recruitment; new hire and benefit orientations; payroll and benefit administration; training; conduct pre-employment screening interviews, check references and respond to routine questions on company policy.
This position collaborates with management and the Human Resources Manager to effectively attract, develop, and retain a high-performing workforce. Acts as a strategic partner to the Human Resources Manager and a valuable resource to employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Job Responsibilities
- All aspects of recruiting to include creating job descriptions, job postings, sourcing and screening candidates, and scheduling interviews.
- Manage scheduling and logistics for all interviews.
- Coordinate onboarding of employees and conduct new hire orientations.
- Develop strong relationships with local and specialized schools and universities as well as other relevant groups.
- Support all aspects of Human Resources, including payroll, benefits, and employee relations.
- Assists with the design and distribution of materials for benefits orientation, open enrollment and other benefits communications to enhance the understanding of the company’s benefits package.
- Establish and maintain professional working relationships with employees.
- Answer employee questions related to pay, benefits, PTO and resolve any issues.
- Conduct exit interviews with employees.
- Assist with the design and distribution of materials for benefits orientation, open enrollment and other benefits communications to enhance the understanding of the company’s benefits package.
- Assess training needs of staff, and conduct or coordinate for appropriate internal training and provide recommendations for external training.
- Developing, coordinating and delivering training programs to enhance employee soft skills.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Also, maintains knowledge of trends, best practices and regulatory changes.
- Escalates concerns to the Human Resources Manager regarding any matters affecting employees and management related to labor law, ethics, and workplace culture.
- Collect and compile Human Resources metrics and data from various sources, including payroll/HRIS systems, exit interviews, employment records, and government labor statistics.
- Prepares and submits the EEO-1 report annually.

Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- 5 years of Human Resource experience in a Generalist role with an emphasis on recruiting and training.
- At least 2 years of training experience with a focus on employee development.
- Experience with internships programs is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
