Position Overview
OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster®. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The Machine Tender assists Cold Forming Machine Operators daily to allow the operators to complete value-added tasks with Cold Heading, Roll Threading, Pointing and Cellular Manufacturing to produce parts according to specifications and Kanban card requirements. The Machine Tender must be a team player and committed to delivering only the best quality to our customers.
Position Responsibilities
- Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
- Observe all safety rules.
- Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance inspections as required.
- Assist other machine operators to set up the machine, stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces.
- Assist in sorting non-conformance parts to identify scrap or mixed parts.
- Perform routine 5’s techniques to assist the operator in cleaning, sorting and sustaining the cleanliness of the work area.
- Maintain a neat and well-organized work area.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret and follow safety instructions, work procedures and other related documents.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to contribute as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, good judgment, and excellent time management skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership. Positive can-do attitude.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in high noise areas and wear appropriate hearing protection devices.
- Manual material handling involving the need to grip, squeeze, and pinch.
- Ability to use hard tined rake to move/break apart parts frequently.
- The position requires the ability to regularly stand.
- The position requires good close vision and depth perception skills. Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
