Position Overview
FastenMaster®, a division of OMG, is the market leader in innovative, premium wood-to-wood fastening solutions engineered to help professional contractors build safer, faster, and more efficiently. The Structural Business Unit Director plays a pivotal role within FastenMaster, reporting directly to the General Manager and owning the commercial strategy, new product development, and product management functions. This is a high-impact leadership position requiring a confident decision-maker who can align cross-functional teams around a clear vision, communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, and drive results with both strategic foresight and operational discipline. Position Responsibilities
- Champion a culture of safety as the number one priority across all OMG operations and teams.
- Develop and maintain a multi-year Product Roadmap that positions the Business Unit for sustained growth and market leadership.
- Lead New Product Development and Innovation initiatives from concept through successful commercialization.
- Create and execute a comprehensive Business Unit Strategic Plan aligned with company objectives.
- Drive revenue and profit growth through active ownership and management of the Business Unit P&L.
- Participate in OMG's Strategic Deployment process to strengthen business execution and organizational alignment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key contractors, channel partners, suppliers, and industry organizations.
- Provide critical inputs to OMG's Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process to support accurate forecasting and resource planning.
- Actively engage in GEMBA walks, Kaizen events, and other Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Develop forward-looking capacity and investment plans to support manufacturing scalability and business growth.
- Leverage OMG's performance management and development tools to build, coach, and retain a high-performing Business Unit team.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- 8–12 years of progressive, relevant business experience.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering results in a financially driven, performance-oriented culture.
- Proven success in strategic planning, including the use of metrics, KPIs, and countermeasures.
- Strong command of budgeting, accounting, and financial principles, including forecasting, performance measurement, and reporting.
- Practical application of Lean principles to drive operational excellence.
- Demonstrated leadership development capabilities, including successful mentoring and talent growth.
- Experience building employee engagement with measurable outcomes and specific tools utilized.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make sound, decisive judgments.
- Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time. Positive, can-do attitude with a collaborative and energizing approach to leadership.
