Position Summary

As the Sales Engineer for welded assemblies, you are responsible for answering questions from customers and assisting them in finding solutions to their heat transfer needs, utilizing Omega Thermo Products’ product offerings. You will be mainly operating from our Stratford facility with required travel as needed. As Sales Engineer, you will be offering price quotes, setting up new accounts, researching sales leads, and performing heat transfer calculations. You will also function as support for the outside sales representative network to assist them with their needs.

Role and Responsibilities

· Set up new accounts and recognize sales opportunities

· Learn and understand our customers’ processes and heat transfer needs; then solve those needs using our heat transfer products

· Provide technical guidance and sales support to outside sales representatives by assisting with customer inquiries, product selection, quotations, proposals, and project execution.

· Perform thermal and mechanical calculations

· Prepare technical specifications and Engineering proposals for heat transfer equipment

· Perform detailed material and labor cost estimates

· Provide technical support to customers and internal to Omega

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to take direction and work under limited supervision

· Display excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion and negotiating skills, required in working with customers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure

· Ability to work on multiple projects/assignments and be able to adjust for changes in job priorities

· Successfully managing projects from quotation to operation in the field, including changing order management

· Must work as a team and contribute to each other’s success. This includes collaborating and working together, across all departments, on identifying and resolving issues together to accomplish assigned tasks

· Ensure work areas are clean and orderly

· Perform other duties as assigned

· Demonstrate a strong customer-focused mindset while balancing business objectives.

· Exhibit a high level of professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.

· Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and enhance customer experience.

· Comply with all company safety policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Sales, or a related field; equivalent education and relevant industry experience may be considered.

· Two to five years of experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, heat transfer products, application engineering, sales engineering, or a related technical field is preferred, but not required.

· Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

· Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand complex technical concepts and apply them to customer applications.

· Strong presentation, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.

· Ability to perform engineering calculations and cost estimates with a high degree of accuracy.

· Ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

· Required to travel occasionally for customer visits, training, or trade shows as required.

· Strong computer skills

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Ability to work well in a team environment

· Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Preferred Skills

· Demonstrated drive and ambition to grow sales, develop new business, and consistently pursue new opportunities.

· Experience with design and fabrication of heat exchangers

· Working knowledge of ASME, PED, TEMA, API and NACE standards

· Process engineering, product engineering, chemical engineering, and/or mechanical engineering background/experience
