Overview

Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to support ongoing operations in Greenville, SC and Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate process / mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined team / design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects through project startup
  • Prepare and review calculations and specifications relating to Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development
  • Demonstrate design experience in areas such as, but not limited to mechanical systems, water and waste systems, and equipment design
  • Generate and review the accuracy of design / evaluation calculations, and specifications

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of five (5) or more years of experience (nuclear preferred) in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance
  • Must have a working knowledge of federal (including Department of Energy Orders), state, and local codes and standards applicable to mechanical engineering design
  • Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred
  • Previous DOE/NNSA work experience

Work Schedule

Shift will be dependent upon customer site discretion.
