Production Quality Data Analyst (Inspection & Calibration)

Omega Plastics Extrusion
Knoxville, TN Other
POSTED ON 10/29/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/27/2026
What if your measurements changed the whole shift?

Picture this: you spot a subtle trend in your inspection data before it becomes a defect. You verify with calibrated tools, collaborate with production to adjust the process, open a corrective action, and keep customer shipments on schedule. If that sounds like your kind of impact, read on.

The mission

Ensure consistent product quality by validating materials, in-process work, and finished goods—without slowing flow—while building a reliable data picture of process health.

Your core responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections and tests at key points in manufacturing to confirm compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
  • Balance precision with pace—safeguard product integrity while maintaining production rates.
  • Record results, trend critical inspection metrics, and create clear inspection reports in Excel and Word.
  • Initiate and monitor corrective and preventive actions using sound technical judgment and structured problem solving.
  • Train production personnel in inspection techniques and quality procedures as needed.
  • Keep inspection equipment and other critical tools calibrated and maintained on schedule.
  • Work across departments to resolve inspection issues quickly and effectively.
  • Escalate quality or compliance concerns immediately.
  • Operate within our Quality and Environmental Management Systems and support internal and external ISO audits.
  • Take on other related duties to support quality and delivery commitments.
How we work together

You’ll report to the Quality Manager, working independently when appropriate and teaming up with production, maintenance, and engineering to solve problems fast.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (8 hours). Every other Sunday: 4-hour shift to sustain quality standards. Some evenings, weekends, and overtime may be required.

What you bring (Preferred)
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools and their calibration.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specs, and other engineering documents.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong integrity.
  • Comfort operating with minimal supervision and collaborating effectively when needed.
  • Strong abilities in data analysis, critical thinking, communication, and problem solving.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
  • Additional education and/or 3–5 years of manufacturing quality assurance experience preferred.
Physical realities of the role
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with fluctuating indoor temperatures (hot/cold), dust, and noise during 8-hour shifts.
  • Extended sitting and/or standing on concrete; frequent walking; occasional bending and squatting.
  • Frequent reaching; repetitive use of wrists, hands, and fingers.
