- Create fabrication, assembly, and rigging drawings for heavy lift and transport projects
- Interpret engineering calculations, specifications, and design inputs into clear, accurate drawings
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure drawings reflect real-world conditions
- Revise and update drawings based on field feedback, RFIs, and project changes
- Ensure all drawings meet industry standards, safety requirements, and company drafting practices
- Support lift planning documentation, including crane configurations, rigging details, and load paths
- Maintain organized drawing files and revision control
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of mechanical drafting experience (more if you expect them to hit the ground running)
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD required; SolidWorks or Inventor preferred)
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fabrication methods, and structural interfaces
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with crane lift planning and rigging drawings
- Familiarity with industry standards (ASME, ANSI, OSHA related to lifting/rigging)
- Experience in industries like heavy industrial, construction, oil & gas, or specialized transport
- Field exposure—someone who understands that drawings have to work outside, not just on paper
