Export Crater

IRH is seeking experienced Export Craters / Carpenters to join our growing team. IRH specializes in rigging, machinery moving, millwright services, heavy transportation, logistics, warehousing, trans-loading, packaging, and asset recovery. We offer a competitive salary and outstanding benefits.

Position Summary

The Export Crater is responsible for preparing, building, and packaging heavy machinery and materials for domestic and international transportation. This role involves assembling custom crates and protective packaging in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment to ensure cargo is protected from damage during transit.

Job Duties (include but are not limited to):

• Build custom crating and packaging for machinery and industrial equipment
• Assemble crates according to specifications using appropriate materials and techniques
• Perform heat shrinking and other protective packaging methods
• Work closely with crew members including riggers, machinery movers, and drivers to complete assignments efficiently
• General warehouse duties as needed
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in framing, carpentry, or export crating
• Experience using hand and power tools (nail gun, staple gun, chop saw, table saw, etc.)
• Export crating experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical, team-based environment
• Self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures
• Good communication skills with team members and vendors
• Willingness to work overtime and outdoors when required
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. without assistance
• Maintain an excellent safety record

Additional Qualifications (a plus):

• Forklift certification
• Blueprint reading experience
• Computer skills, including MS Excel
• Safety training (OSHA 10 or OSHA 30) – training available if not certified

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical abilities test, as well as random periodic screenings
