Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Parking Attendants who are reliable, detail oriented and customer-service focused. The successful candidate will help direct and park vehicles as required, manage garage operations, assist visitors and tenants, and ensure the parking facility remains safe, organized, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet, assist and direct drivers and visitors as they enter and exit the parking garage.
- Park vehicles when needed (including moving vehicles within the garage for optimal space utilization).
- Monitor the flow of traffic within the garage: guide vehicles to available spots, manage lane/aisle access.
- Ensure vehicles are safely parked, wheels turned, windows closed, hazards addressed.
- Maintain awareness of garage occupancy and optimize space usage.
- Assist tenants and visitors with retrieving vehicles, locating their spots, and answering parking-related questions.
- Report any damage to vehicles, incidents or safety hazards (e.g., spills, lighting issues, structural concerns) to management promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and order of the garage: remove debris, check lighting, ensure signage/markings are clear.
- Operate and/or monitor garage equipment (gates, ticketing machines, security cameras) if applicable.
- Uphold all building/garage policies, local regulations and safety protocols.
- Work collaboratively with building security, facilities, and management as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned consistent with parking operations and customer service.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record.
- 2 years of previous experience in parking operations, valet, parking garage or similar environment (preferred).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills – ability to interact professionally with tenants, visitors, contractors and vendors.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to anticipate and respond to issues proactively.
- Comfortable standing, walking and being on one’s feet for significant portions of a shift; ability to move in and around vehicles and garage areas.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends or special events (as the garage usage demands).
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy (given responsibility for vehicles, garage access and safety).
- Basic problem-solving skills and ability to escalate appropriately.
- Physical ability to lift/move moderately heavy items (e.g., cones, signs) and to access all levels of the garage safely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience specifically in a commercial office building parking garage environment.
- Familiarity with any parking management software or ticketing/gate systems.
- Bilingual capability (Spanish/English) for broader tenant/visitor communication.
- Experience in a high‐volume, fast‐paced garage setting (e.g., events, peak ingress/egress periods).
Compensation
$20 to $25 per hour
