What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist I-Martinsburg, WV (MBVRS10) position at Omega Health?
Why This Role Matters
Turn Passion into Progress. Build Careers. Change Lives.
At Omega Health Services, we don't just fill vacancies—we dismantle barriers. As a CARF-accredited, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), we are the bridge between untapped talent and inclusive workplaces. We are seeking a self-motivated Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist to lead our mission on the ground in Martinsburg.
You aren’t just a coach; you are a catalyst for independence. You will work directly in the community with Veterans, individuals with autism/developmental challenges, and those facing economic hurdles, ensuring they don't just find a job, but find a place where they truly belong.
Your Impact: What You’ll Do
As a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist, you aren't stuck behind a desk. You are out in the community making things happen:
- Advocate & Negotiate: Act as the professional liaison between your clients and local business partners, securing "win-win" employment matches.
- On-the-Ground Coaching: Provide "real-time" support during orientations, new hire paperwork, and the first critical weeks of a new role.
- Solve for Accessibility: Identify and implement assistive technologies and reasonable accommodations to level the playing field.
- Foster Integration: Help clients build "natural supports" within their new teams to ensure long-term retention and social connection.
- Mobile Management: Manage your caseload independently using a company-provided tablet and reimbursed travel.
Your Superpowers (What We’re Looking For)
We value a healthy mix of formal education, empathy, and "lived experience." You are a great fit if you bring:
Educational Track (Must meet one):
- Bachelor’s Degree (Any field) OR
- Associate’s Degree 1 year of relevant work experience OR
- High School Diploma / GED 2 years of relevant life or work experience.
Core Strengths & Essentials:
- The "People" Factor: You are a natural communicator who is equally comfortable pitching to local business owners and advocating for individuals with unique needs.
- Independence: You thrive in the community, possess sharp time-management skills, and enjoy a change of scenery every day.
- Mobility & Compliance: A valid Driver’s License, a reliable vehicle with proper insurance, and the ability to pass a standard background check and drug screen.
The Omega Edge: Why You’ll Love It Here
We believe those who do the hard work should be well rewarded. We deeply invest in your total well-being:
- Professional Mastery: We pay for your path! Access professional development scholarships and industry-leading certifications (ACRE, CESP, and WIP-C) at zero cost to you.
- Financial Wellness: Competitive pay with scheduled increases, monthly COMPT stipends for your lifestyle needs, and the SmartDollar wellness program.
- Total Security: Comprehensive Health, Dental, Life, AD&D, and Long-Term Disability insurance.
- Flexibility & Autonomy: Enjoy a field-based schedule that values your actual community impact and results over rigid desk time.
- Rest & Recharge: "Earn-as-you-go" Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays.
