Controller
We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our growing commercial and industrial electrical contracting company. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing project accounting, and providing timely financial reporting to support business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reviews.
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow.
- Maintain and monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and project cost reporting.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure accurate job costing.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis for management.
- Coordinate with external CPA for year-end reviews and tax preparation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Assist with process improvements and financial planning.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of accounting or controller experience, preferably in construction or electrical contracting.
- Strong knowledge of Sage and Miter software.
- Experience with construction accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
