We are seeking a reliable, detail‐oriented Dental Receptionist that is Bi-Lingual (Spanish) with strong skills in treatment coordination, insurance verification, Medi‐Cal Insurance knowledge, and general administrative support. This role is essential to ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate financial communication, and an exceptional patient experience. Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Patient Communication
• Greet patients warmly, check them in/out, and maintain a welcoming environment
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage the office calendar efficiently
• Confirm appointments, send reminders, and follow up on missed or overdue visits
• Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic/insurance information
Treatment Coordination
• Present treatment plans clearly and confidently to patients
• Review recommended procedures, fees, and insurance coverage
• Discuss financial options, payment plans, and office policies
• Ensure patients understand their treatment sequence and next steps
Insurance Verification
• Verify PPO, HMO, and Medi‐Cal/Denti‐Cal eligibility and benefits
• Understand Medi‐Cal coverage rules, frequency limitations, and authorization requirements
• Calculate patient co‐pays, deductibles, and out‐of‐pocket estimates
• Collect payments at time of service and maintain accurate financial records
Administrative & Office Support
• Maintain a clean, organized front office and reception area
• Assist with scanning, filing, and data entry
• Manage incoming/outgoing mail, faxes, and office communication
• Support the dental team with daily operational tasks as needed
Qualifications
• Minimum 1–2 years of dental front office experience (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of dental insurance, including PPO, HMO, and Medi‐Cal/Denti‐Cal
• Experience with treatment planning and financial presentation
• Familiarity with dental software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, or similar)
• Excellent communication, customer service, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bilingual (Spanish/English)
