What are the responsibilities and job description for the P.M. Cook position at OMC Smokehouse?
Cooks work in a close-knit team preparing a variety of foods. Dishes are prepared from scratch, portioned, and organized in batch quantities following recipes. Orders should be planned to coordinate hot and cold foods being ready at the same time. Cooks are responsible for keeping track of orders, juggling several items without allowing items to burn or get cold. Cooks must communicate effectively with the expeditor and servers to ensure the best quality for our customers.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Prepare appropriate food in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for cleaning equipment and keeping the work area sanitized.
- Operate various pieces of kitchen equipment as assigned, reports problems and ensures their resolution.
- Reports any unsafe conditions and suggests possible solutions.
- Prepares food using recipes to produce a standard product.
- Weigh and measure ingredients to ensure cost control and a uniform product.
- Ensures compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
- Cooks must be able to use their time productively during slow periods. The duties of food prep, stocking the kitchen, and cleaning the kitchen to meet sanitation codes.
- Assists in ensuring physical maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and attractiveness of the facility.
All Kitchen staff at the OMC Recieve 5% of the food sales of the day they work - prorated by hour.
Pay: $18.50 - $21.00 per hour
