Empowered Aging is a regional nonprofit organization serving seniors and families in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano counties. Empowered Aging is dedicated to ensuring dignity and quality of life for older adults through a variety of community based and congregate living programs. Current programs include Long-Term Care Ombudsman, Elder Justice, MSW Internship, and Healthcare Career Pathway. Empowered Aging, formerly Ombudsman Services of Contra Costa County, has a long history of advocating and protecting the rights of older and adults with disabilities. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Marketing and Outreach Specialist, working to support the Community Engagement Manager in Contra Costa County, Alameda County and Solano County and the Empowered Aging as a whole, is a critical and nimble team member who will be responsible for assisting in developing, executing and analyzing marketing campaigns, outreach activities, and fundraising efforts. The Marketing and Outreach Specialist will drive brand awareness and assist in supporting Empowered Agings overall marketing and fundraising strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising Campaign Support
- Assist in developing and executing fundraising campaigns, including digital, direct mail, and community-based efforts.
- Coordinate and track donor outreach efforts, ensuring timely follow-ups and acknowledgments.
- Help create donor engagement materials, such as thank-you letters, impact reports, and recognition efforts.
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising events, including logistics, guest communications, and promotional materials.
- Maintain donor databases and generate reports to track progress and campaign effectiveness.
Marketing and Outreach
- Develop social media content, newsletters, and website updates to promote the fundraising campaign and organizational initiatives.
- Design flyers, brochures, and other outreach materials for distribution in the community.
- Assist in managing social media accounts by scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and tracking engagement analytics.
- Collaborate with the Community Engagement Manager to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all platforms.
- Attend community events to represent Empowered Aging and promote awareness of the fundraising campaign and programs.
Community Engagement and Advocacy
- Help build relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and stakeholders for partnership opportunities.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for outreach efforts, including scheduling meetings and preparing presentation materials.
- Assist in developing and executing educational campaigns to raise awareness about elder abuse and senior rights.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Demonstrates an understanding of the long-term care system and the rights and concerns of those who live within it. - Preference for those who have worked in long-term support and services
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability and talent for problem resolution
- Eagerness to use and leverage technology to streamline processes
- AA/AS or equivalent experience
- Reliable transportation/ability to spend significant time driving to off site events
- Ability to lift 50 LBS
COMPENSATION
$25 - $27 per hour; non-exempt

SCHEDULE:
This is a hybrid/remote part-time position (approximately 20 hours/week) with flexible and negotiable working hours to meet organizational needs. Our typical office hours are M-F 8am-5pm. This position may require occasional evening and weekend work based on program needs, special events, or other organizational priorities. Travel throughout Solano, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties is required to support program activities and community engagement.
