About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with severe learning, emotional behavioral disorders, and challenging behaviors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IEPs that meet the unique needs of each student
- Provide direct instruction in subjects such as reading, writing, and mathematics
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum materials and educational software
- Monitor and record student progress, making adjustments to IEPs as needed
- Establish a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes social development and group responsibility
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field
- Teaching certification and/or special education credential
- Experience working with students with severe learning, emotional behavioral disorders, and challenging behaviors
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction in a classroom setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
