Cottner Creek Pet Clinic is seeking an experienced Lead Veterinary Technician to join our team! This leadership role is ideal for a licensed veterinary technician who enjoys combining hands-on patient care with team leadership, operational oversight, staff development, and clinic organization.
The Lead Veterinary Technician serves as a key resource for the veterinary team by helping ensure efficient daily operations, maintain high standards of patient care, supporting team members, and promoting exceptional client experience.
Qualifications
- Licensed Veterinary Technician required
- Minimum of 5 years of veterinary clinical experience
- Previous leadership, training, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to excellent patient care, client service, and team collaboration
Primary Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Staff Development
- Provide leadership and support to veterinary support staff
- Help coordinate training and mentorship programs for new hires
- Conduct performance feedback discussions and participate in employee evaluations
- Support professional development and promote a positive team culture
- Lead and facilitate staff and management meetings
- Monitor daily staffing needs and workflow efficiency
Clinic Operations
- Oversee daily clinical workflow and staff scheduling coordination
- Monitor schedules, appointment flow, and task completion to ensure efficient operations
- Ensure medical records, technician notes, and procedure documentation are completed accurately and timely
- Assist with implementation and adherence to clinic policies, procedures, and standard operating protocols
- Help troubleshoot clinical and office equipment issues
- Monitor clinic communication platforms and ensure timely follow-up on tasks and responsibilities
Inventory & Compliance
- Monitor inventory levels of medications, medical supplies, office supplies, and other clinic resources
- Assist with inventory counts and inventory management processes
- Help maintain accurate medication lot numbers, expiration dates, and controlled substance documentation
- Support OSHA compliance
- Assist in maintaining operational checklists and compliance standards
Administrative & Client Service Responsibilities
- Support end-of-day procedures and operational follow-up activities
- Assist with vendor communications and maintaining clinic resources
- Help resolve client concerns and escalate issues when appropriate
- Process and monitor administrative transactions and documentation
- Promote a positive client experience through effective communication and problem resolution
