Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Worker

SUMMARY: To provide repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of the Tribally-owned buildings and surrounding grounds (lawn, parking lot, and support buildings).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Oversee the maintenance of all Tribal buildings and equipment.
• Perform inspections and oversee maintenance work to ensure quality.
• Inform the supervisor of equipment or materials needed for the department.
• Ensure proper lawn care and maintenance.
• Receive work orders from the facilities supervisor.
• Handle plumbing needs in the facility.
• Address electrical needs in the facility.
• Conduct painting, carpentry, and varnishing tasks in the facility.
• Troubleshoot machinery and equipment to ensure safety and proper functionality.
• Maintain clean and hygienic conditions throughout tribal premises and facilities.
• Repair potential safety hazards to prevent injuries.
• Maintain a log of tribally owned property and equipment use.
• Perform routine maintenance around designated buildings.
• Assist with sidewalk maintenance in the community for safety.
• Collaborate with other departments for maintenance needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED
• Two (2) years' experience in related field with knowledge of building trades preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, and/or REGISTRATIONS:

• Must have valid Nebraska driver's license and be insurable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and/or ABILITIES:

• Must be familiar with Life Safety Code JCAHO requirements and State Health Department regulations.
