Inventory Control Specialist

Job Summary:

Supports daily inventory operations by ensuring accurate stock levels, efficient product movement, and FIFO compliance across internal facilities and external cold storage partners. Coordinates inventory flow between production, warehouse, and storage locations while proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies through system analysis and physical counts.

Major Job Responsibilities/Job Duties:

• Support daily inventory planning by reviewing stock levels, identifying needs, and coordinating product movement between cold storage and production to maintain FIFO compliance
• Monitor and coordinate the daily movement of inventory between facilities; communicate priorities and resolve flow issues with operations, production, and warehouse teams
• Investigate, reconcile, and resolve inventory discrepancies using system data (Qantel, AS400) and physical counts
• Coordinate, assist with, and provide backup support for cycle counts; support biannual physical inventory processes
• Compile, track, and analyze inventory metrics (accuracy, shrink, movement, costs); provide reporting support to the Inventory Manager
• Support cost control initiatives by identifying inefficiencies in inventory movement, storage, and handling
• Assist in maintaining relationships with internal teams (Production, Repack, Fulfillment) and support communication with external cold storage partners
• Maintain locator system accuracy and ensure inventory is properly stored and organized (including freezer locations)
• Act as backup to Inventory Specialist, assisting with daily execution tasks including inventory transactions, system updates, and location maintenance
• Act as backup to Inventory Manager, supporting planning, reporting, and operational decision-making as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Microsoft Applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
• May operate a forklift (traditional or Bendi) if certified—though not required.
• AS400
• Qantel
• Take initiative to plan and manage own schedule
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience in Qantel and AS400 preferred (not required)
