The Clinical Manager oversees the daily operations of the clinical and optical teams to ensure a smooth, efficient, and patient-focused experience. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support clinical staff, including technicians, scribes, and optical assistants.
- Oversee patient flow to ensure efficiency and optimal patient experience.
- Lead, train, and support clinical staff and opticians.
- Monitor scheduling, staffing, and workflow to meet practice goals and optimize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager and Optometrists to improve processes and productivity.
- Manage inventory of clinical supplies and coordinate equipment maintenance.
- Handle patient concerns with professionalism and care.
- Human Resources, assist with onboarding, performance evaluations, ongoing staff development, scheduling, PTO requests, and bi-weekly time card approval.
- Foster a positive team culture built on communication, respect, and excellence.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in an optometric, ophthalmic, or medical office required.
- Proven leadership or management experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of optometric testing, contact lens procedures, and optical terminology.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software.
- Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and foster a positive work environment.
