What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utilization Review Analyst position at Omaha National?
Omaha National is seeking a Allied Health/Medical Professional to join our Utilization Review team. This position performs pre-authorization review of proposed medical treatment for patients who have suffered workplace injuries. The goal is to protect patients from the risks of unnecessary or inappropriate procedures while ensuring they receive appropriate, high-quality care in a timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure injured workers receive the right care, at the right time, from the right provider.
- Able to complete work efficiently and timely per state guidelines.
- Learn workers’ compensation regulations and interpret complex medical documentation.
- Learn and effectively apply evidence-based medical treatment guidelines such as ODG, ACOEM Guidelines, and MTUS.
- Licensed medical professional such as: EMT, Respiratory Therapist, Physical therapist/Assistant, Radiology Technologist. Must be willing to obtain additional state licenses as needed for company growth.
- Understanding of various medical areas including, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, physician specialty, and the medical industry in general.
- Five years’ healthcare experience including at least two years’ clinical practice.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and a demonstrated ability to master other software applications as needed.
- Experience with trauma, ER, orthopedics, or occupational medicine is helpful but not required.
