The Grants and Compliance Manager plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the Omaha Economic Development Corporation by securing and managing funding that supports housing, small business development, and community revitalization in North Omaha. This position is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive grant strategy, cultivating strong relationships with funders, and ensuring compliance across all grant activities.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Grant Development & Management _40_%
1. Design and implement a comprehensive multi-year grant strategy that aligns with OEDC’s mission to advance economic opportunity, housing development, and community impact in North Omaha, ensuring a diversified and sustainable funding portfolio.
2. Identify, evaluate, and prioritize grant opportunities that directly support racial equity, income inclusion, affordable housing, and small business growth, using data-driven insights and community needs assessments to guide decision-making.
3. Conduct ongoing landscape analyses of the philanthropic and public funding environment, anticipating shifts in funder priorities and proactively adjusting strategies to maintain competitiveness.
4. Develop detailed project plans for each grant, including timelines, deliverables, performance indicators, and evaluation frameworks to ensure clarity and accountability across teams.
5. Lead strategic planning sessions with internal stakeholders, translating organizational goals into fundable initiatives and aligning cross-departmental efforts for maximum impact.
6. Monitor and assess the progress of grant-funded programs, using key performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness and recommend strategic adjustments when needed.
7. Prepare and present quarterly strategic reports to leadership, highlighting funding trends, grant performance, and opportunities for growth or realignment.

17. Maintain comprehensive and organized grant records, including budgets, contracts, reports, correspondence, and performance data, to support transparency and audit readiness.
18. Collaborate with the finance team to monitor grant expenditures, reconcile budgets, and ensure that all spending aligns with approved allocations and timelines.
19. Prepare and submit high-quality grant reports and deliverables, incorporating quantitative data, qualitative narratives, and visual elements that clearly demonstrate impact and accountability.

Organizational finances and spending approvals are determined by the Executive Director.
Education:
A bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Finance, or a related field is required. While not required, a master’s degree in a related field is viewed as a plus. Additional training or certification in grant writing, project management (e.g., PMP), or nonprofit finance is highly desirable.
Certifications and Licenses:
Valid Driver’s License is required.
