Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support precision aerospace manufacturing. This position is responsible for programming CNC equipment and supporting the machining department with optimized tool paths, setup documentation, and machining strategies.
In addition to traditional CNC machining, this role will program parts and tooling for 3-axis and 5-axis laser systems, as well as water jet equipment. The CNC Programmer plays a critical role in ensuring efficient production by proactively identifying challenges, minimizing downtime, and supporting both short-term and long-term manufacturing goals.
This position works cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure high-quality parts are delivered on time and to specification. A strong focus on continuous improvement, communication, and precision is essential to success in this role.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities may include:
Program CNC equipment for production components, form tooling, part-holding fixtures, and specialized processes
Develop CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis laser systems and water jet equipment
Develop and maintain detailed setup documentation to support efficient production workflows
Create, modify, and optimize tool paths for quality, repeatability, and cycle-time efficiency
Maintain a strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and equipment capabilities
Identify and implement opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce cycle times
Troubleshoot and resolve production and programming-related issues as they arise
Support first-article runs, qualification activities, and capability studies
Ensure smooth workflow across shifts by documenting key actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs
Collaborate with department leads to support on-time production and schedule adherence
Maintain compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety and environmental regulations
Perform other duties as assigned to support team and company objectives
Skill Level & Pay
CNC Programmer: $30–$45 /hr sign-on bonus (DOE)
Required Qualifications
Advanced CNC programming experience in a production manufacturing environment
Proficiency with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, Esprit, or equivalent)
Experience programming CNC machining equipment and non-traditional systems (laser and/or water jet preferred)
Strong understanding of G-code, cutter compensation, offsets, and machine capabilities
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T
Strong tooling, fixturing, and machining strategy knowledge
Proven troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail, documentation, and process control
