Olympus Cove Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced, compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our independently owned small-animal practice in Millcreek, Utah.

We are looking for a dependable and capable team member who takes pride in providing excellent patient care, communicates well with clients and coworkers, and can work efficiently in a busy clinical environment.

Olympus Cove Veterinary Clinic has served the Millcreek community for more than 35 years. We are an independently owned practice committed to providing high-quality, practical veterinary care at fair prices.

Our clinic offers digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory testing, surgery, dentistry, and general medical care for dogs and cats.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures
  • Obtain patient histories and accurately record vital signs, medications, and treatments
  • Safely and compassionately handle dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments
  • Collect blood, urine, and other diagnostic samples
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing, including bloodwork and urinalysis
  • Take digital dental and full body radiographs and assist with ultrasound and other diagnostic procedures
  • Prepare patients and equipment for surgery and dental procedures
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments under a veterinarian’s direction
  • Place and maintain IV catheters and provide nursing care to hospitalized patients
  • Review medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care with pet owners
  • Maintain clean, organized treatment, surgical, laboratory, and kennel areas
  • Help appointments and patient care move efficiently throughout the day
  • Support coworkers and assist with other clinical responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic is required
  • Veterinary technician credential is preferred but not required
  • Experience with anesthesia monitoring, dentistry, radiography, laboratory procedures, and medication administration is preferred
  • Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and basic animal anatomy and physiology
  • Strong low stress animal-handling and restraint skills
  • Clear and compassionate communication with pet owners
  • Ability to stay calm, organized, and attentive in a busy environment
  • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to communicate concerns directly, respectfully, and professionally
  • Ability to accept feedback, take responsibility for mistakes, and help find solutions
  • A team-oriented attitude without gossip, cliques, or unnecessary conflict
