Job Summary:
The Purchasing Agent will purchase goods and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; advises management accordingly.
· Coordinates with Inventory Control Specialist to maintain inventory levels.
· Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
· Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
· Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
· Researches vendors and collects prices, specifications, and other data related to non-critical goods and services.
· Establishes and maintains recordkeeping system for purchasing department.
· Maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used.
· Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.
· Collaborates with other departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department.
· Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
· Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
· Approve and enter bills.
· Track the status of orders and backorders.
· Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
· Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
· Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
· Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
· Compare suppliers' bills with purchase orders to verify accuracy.
· Establishes and tracks all warranty claims
· Maintains correct Sales Tax information within system.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· At least two years of purchasing experience preferred..
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
· Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $61,613.00 - $65,366.00 per year
