Belonging and Community Transformation (BCT) Director

Salary: $81,126.88 to $91,267.74

Classification: Administrative/Exempt

Reports to: Vice President of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

This position will remain open for a minimum of seven (7) days. The College reserves the right to close the recruitment at any time after the minimum posting period once a sufficient applicant pool has been established.

The BCT Director provides leadership, coordination, and oversight for assigned diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives. The position is responsible for translating strategy into action by managing programs, supervising staff, guiding learning and engagement efforts, supporting accreditation-aligned assessment, and overseeing community outreach functions through direct supervision of the Community Outreach Associate. The BCT Director fosters collaborative relationships across the College and community while ensuring accountability, effectiveness, and sustainability of BCT efforts. This position will assist efforts to ensure spending around allocated dollars has been expeditiously, fairly utilized in compliance with applicable law.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate BCT-related events and programming sponsored by the office, including planning, logistics, and on-site execution.
  • Facilitate communication with internal leaders, external partners, vendors, speakers, students, and employees.
  • Assist the VPDEI in the development, implementation, and assessment of the College’s BCT Strategic Plan and related initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership, governance bodies, and the Board of Trustees as needed.
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships across the division areas, department leads, governance councils, and community partners.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement sustainable BCT programs, policies, practices, and processes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and facilitator to employees and leaders on equity, belonging, and institutional policy implications.
  • Facilitate learning sessions and develop training content and materials. Supporting belonging and community-focused practices, annual conference material, compliance-related training, and skill-building for BCT staff.
  • Supervise and assist with day-to-day outreach activities including community engagement, partnership coordination, outreach communications, event support, and data collection related to outreach efforts.
  • Provides strategic direction, prioritization, quality assurance, and performance supervision for community outreach work.
  • Collaborates with the K12 Partnerships office ensure alignment with the Student Affairs, the VPDEI and the Olympic College strategic plans.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (education, public administration, organizational leadership, social sciences, or a closely related disciple.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing programs or projects within higher education, public-sector, or community-based organizations.
  • Experience preparing reports, dashboards, or presentations for executive leadership, governance bodies, or external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and leading organization-wide change initiatives.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Knowledge of the achieving the Dream, organization and the Guided Pathways model for higher education.
  • Multilingual

This is a full-time exempt position scheduled to work Monday through Friday. The salary for this position is $$81,126.88 to $91,267.74 annually, which includes a generous benefits package that includes the following.
