Director of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs
Location: Dearborn, MI Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Position Summary: Olympian Mortgage is seeking a highly methodical and detail-oriented Director of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs. This individual will serve as the primary architect of our operational integrity, responsible for ensuring the organization remains in strict adherence to all state and federal lending regulations. The ideal candidate is a technical specialist who finds professional satisfaction in precision, documentation, and the creation of scalable internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Oversight: Manage and maintain all corporate and individual state licensing (NMLS), ensuring accuracy in annual reports, renewals, and regulatory filings.
- Quality Control & Auditing: Execute rigorous pre-funding and post-closing audit protocols to ensure file integrity and adherence to secondary market and warehouse line requirements.
- SOP Development: Design, author, and implement comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that translate complex mortgage guidelines into repeatable, compliant workflows.
- Onboarding & Licensing: Oversee the regulatory onboarding of all new hires, ensuring proper state documentation, background checks, and license transfers.
- Liaison to Regulators: Act as the primary point of contact for state and federal regulators, managing all external audits and examinations with radical transparency and organized documentation.
- Operational Protection: Monitor legislative changes in the mortgage industry to proactively update company policies, protecting the organization from legal and financial liability.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 years of experience in Mortgage Compliance, Quality Control, or Senior Underwriting.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced understanding of NMLS, state audits, and reporting
- Analytical Depth: High logical reasoning skills with the ability to interpret complex legal and financial data.
- Detail Orientation: A natural inclination toward extreme precision and exhaustive follow-through
