What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Technician position at Olympia Chiropractic & Physical Therapy?
Olympia Chiropractic & Physical Therapy is seeking a motivated PT/Rehab Tech to support our outpatient clinic in Sycamore, IL. You’ll work directly with patients in a multidisciplinary clinic, gaining hands-on experience with athletes and active individuals of all ages. This is a year‑round position (not seasonal), ideal for recent graduates or students within ~2 years of their clinical/undergraduate training who are pursuing a career in physical therapy or a related field. Experience in the PT field is required.
SCHEDULE: Average 35-40 Hours/week. Mix of morning and afternoon/evening shifts. Scheduled mid-shift pauses.
Monday- Morning shift and afternoon shift
Tuesday- Morning shift and afternoon shift
Wed- Morning shift and afternoon shift
Thurs: Afternoon shift only
Friday-Morning shift and afternoon shift
Saturday: EVERY OTHER Saturday morning 7:30am-10:30am
Key Responsibilities
● Direct patient care under supervision.
● Set up, monitor, and cue patients through therapeutic exercises, stretching, and basic modalities per the PT’s plan of care.
● Prepare and clean treatment areas and equipment before and after sessions.
● Greet patients, explain basic clinic routines, and help maintain patient flow during busy shifts.
● Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinic environment.
Required Qualifications
● Within ~2 years of graduation or current enrollment in a PTA, kinesiology, exercise science, athletic training, or related program (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on athletic/fitness background).
● Basic understanding of exercise form, body mechanics, and injury prevention.
● Comfortable being on your feet most of the shift and occasionally assisting patients with light support or equipment.
● Reliable, punctual, and professional with strong communication and customer‑service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
● Prior experience in any of the following (paid or unpaid): Outpatient PT, sports rehab, chiropractic, or fitness setting
● Familiarity with basic clinic documentation or EMR systems (entering visit notes, checking schedules).
