Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which must include the following experience implementing, maintaining, and improving quality management systems aligned with standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025; developing, revising, and monitoring quality procedures, corrective actions, and compliance activities; supporting acquisition and contract management, including drafting statements of work/ objectives, monitoring contractor performance, reviewing deliverables, and reconciling invoices.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Responsibilities:
As a Quality Assurance Specialist you will:- Perform key duties to maintain and improve a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 standards.
- Review and evaluate technical documents, procedures, forms, manuals, guidance, and policies to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with quality requirements.
- Maintain document control and manage ISO compliance records, including plans, policies, procedures, guidance documents, and related materials.
- Support the laboratory waste management quality assurance program, including oversight of autoclave testing program/biological indicator and related quality activities for waste treatment operations.
- Conduct trend analysis, review nonconforming events, identify root causes, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
- Serve as a Quality Assurance subject matter expert on ISO 9001, ISO 35001, and ISO 45001 compliance and office quality program operations.
- Coordinate with records management officials to ensure compliance with records retention and documentation requirements
