What you’ll do

Incoming inspection and diagnosis

  • Disassemble motors, inspect bearings, shafts, housings, and cores, and identify the likely cause of failure
  • Estimate parts and labor and recommend repair or replacement to the Shop Manager

Rewinding

  • Record winding data, then strip stators and armatures without damaging the core iron, using the burnout oven and media blasting

  • Dip and bake and verify cure and insulation resistance

Mechanical rebuild

  • Balance rotors and reassemble motors to specification

Final test and documentation

  • Run final electrical and no-load tests per EASA AR100 and record results on the job ticket
  • Clean, paint, and tag finished motors and prepare them for pickup or shipment
  • Log hours and parts against each job so it can be invoiced accurately

Shop and field support

  • Keep work areas, tools, and test equipment clean, organized, and calibrated
  • Occasionally troubleshoot, remove, or install motors at customer sites
  • Help train apprentices and helpers

What you’ll need

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Skill with precision measuring tools and basic shop math, including fractions
  • Safe operation of overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

Nice to have

  • VPI, dynamic balancing, and pump or gearbox repair experience
  • Familiarity with EASA AR100 repair practices; EASA training a plus
  • Experience in a smaller shop where you handle each job start to finish

Apprentices welcome. If you have mechanical or electrical aptitude but not the winding experience yet, we still want to hear from you. We train the right person. Apprentice and helper pay is set separately based on experience.
