What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager/Supervisor position at Olson Aluminum Castings?
Position Summary:
The principal tasks and responsibilities will be the production, assembly, packaging, and shipment of a proprietary product line, along with the scheduling and management of a visual inventory system. Supervisory duties primarily revolve around the general management of direct reports, which include, but are not limited to, providing and demonstrating task instructions, keeping attendance, and measuring key performance indicators. This position will focus on providing our customers with quality products while maintaining on-time delivery. Candidates should be familiar with the materials, tools, equipment, computer systems, etc., used in the area; as well as, be able to operate equipment and perform functions in the area. Candidates should understand the function and relationship of their activity/department to other parts of the Company, and strive to obtain cooperation and understanding with all other groups/departments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: To include but not limited to
- Direct and supervise up to 5 employees
- Assembly; Pull parts, Assemble kits and monitor inventory levels
- Package products for shipment
- Interact with other departments in a team atmosphere to maintain schedule and ensure on time deliveries
- Monitor Kanban inventory levels of components and kits, notify when reorder points are hit
- Maintain clean work area and shelves / bins neat and orderly
- Ability to manage labor to maintain work center schedules
Physical Requirements: To include but not limited to
- Good manual dexterity
- Good eye hand coordination
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.

- Strong ability to learn
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to work unsupervised, sometimes in a solitary condition
- Strong communication skills, including ability to speak, read, write and understand English
- Microsoft Office and Excel experience required
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to safely operate a forklift
- Highly motivated, well organized
