We’re looking for a Freelance Content Creator who knows how to turn ideas into stories that resonate, inspire, and move people to act. Whether it’s a video script, a short-form reel, a photo caption, or a long-form feature—if you live and breathe storytelling, this is your space.

At Olomana Loomis ISC, we believe content is more than communication—it’s connection. We serve clients across hospitality, energy, education, land management, and Native Hawaiian priorities. Your role is to bring these stories to life in ways that reflect our communities and spark meaningful engagement.

You Might Be The Right Fit If You Are

  • A Natural StorytellerYou instinctively find the heart of a story and shape it into something clear, compelling, and human—across formats and platforms.
  • A Skilled Interviewer You know how to draw people out. Whether filming testimonials or capturing real voices, you ask the right questions, create comfort on camera, and uncover authentic moments that translate into powerful stories.
  • Visually Fluent You can frame a shot, direct a moment, and edit with intention—capturing both attention and emotion.
  • Socially Savvy You understand tone, timing, and trends across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and beyond—and know how to adapt content for each.
  • Culturally Attuned You listen deeply and create with respect—producing work that reflects Hawai‘i’s communities, values, and voices.
  • Collaborative You take direction well, contribute ideas, and bring energy to creative discussions and reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging photo, video, and written content across social, web, email, and digital campaigns
  • Plan, conduct, and capture interviews for testimonial videos, brand stories, and community features
  • Film and edit original content on-site or in the field (events, interviews, day-in-the-life, etc.)
  • Collaborate with designers, strategists, and client teams to bring stories to life
  • Organize and manage digital assets for reuse and cross-platform distribution
  • Stay current with trends and apply them thoughtfully within brand guidelines

Minimum Requirements

Formal Education and Work Experience:

  • Skills in photography, video production, or editing (mobile or pro gear)
  • Experience interviewing community members or clients
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related field
  • Experience in paid social media and boosting campaigns
  • 3 years of progressive work experience in marketing, communications and public relations
  • Work experience in an agency desirable
  • A record of increasingly greater career responsibility and accomplishment

Technical Skills

  • Detailed command of written English, word choice, tone, grammar, punctuation, spelling
  • Demonstrated experience with social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn
  • Use of project management systems such Asana and Workamajig

Also Required

  • Keen attention to detail, organization and excellent math and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Both leadership and team player qualities are essential
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, youthful energy but mature mindset
  • Familiarity of local history, culture and marketplace a must
  • Ongoing love of learning highly desirable
