Position Summary
The Stamping Press Operator for Oliver Technologies Inc. is responsible for precision metal forming through the setup, operation, and monitoring of a stamping press. This role is critical for shaping metal sheets by cutting, punching, bending, or forming them into high-quality components using various dies. The operator is accountable for maximizing production efficiency, ensuring stringent quality control, and maintaining a safe work environment throughout the entire production cycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Setup & Preparation
- Die Management: Install, align, and secure dies accurately according to blueprint specifications and work order requirements.
- Parameter Adjustment: Precisely adjust critical press settings, including tonnage, speed, and feed rate, to meet product specifications.
- Material Loading: Load metal coils or sheets into the press, often utilizing a tow motor.
2. Operations & Efficiency
- Production: Initiate and operate the stamping press to consistently produce high-quality metal components.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Continuously monitor machine performance, proactively identifying and addressing any operational malfunctions or deviations.
3. Quality Assurance (QA)
- In-Process Inspection: Perform rigorous in-process quality checks and dimensional inspections to identify defects and adjust press settings immediately as needed.
- Defect Reporting: Promptly report all quality issues or non-conforming parts to the production supervisor.
4. Maintenance & Safety
- Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute basic preventative maintenance tasks, including routine cleaning and lubrication of the press.
- Repair Reporting: Identify and immediately report any necessary maintenance, repair needs, or equipment concerns.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all established safety procedures and consistently wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Report any safety concerns or accidents immediately.
Required Qualifications
Technical & Functional Skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and a strong understanding of industrial metal stamping processes.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work directly from blueprints, schematics, and detailed work orders.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong quality control skills (e.g., use of measuring tools).
- Basic mathematical proficiency for production-related calculations.
- Current certification or proven ability to safely operate a tow motor for material and finished goods transport.
- Efficiency focus and proven time management skills.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds regularly. The role requires standing for extended periods and performing repetitive motions in a physically demanding environment. No restrictions regarding sitting, lifting, or bending.
- Environment: Work is performed in a manufacturing facility characterized by loud machinery, exposure to metal shavings, and potential industrial hazards.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
