Oliver & Spencer is a small, close-knit CPA firm in Chandler, learn more at www.oscpas.com.

We’re looking for two tax professionals who want more than a seat at a processing desk. In a small office you’ll work on returns from start to finish, learn directly from the people reviewing your work, and have real influence on how the practice runs.

Whether you’re early in your career and ready to grow, or a seasoned preparer ready for review and mentorship responsibility, we’ll shape the role around your experience.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Base salary of $80,000 - $120,000, based on experience and credentials
  • Small team where your work is noticed and your questions get answered
  • Wide variety of individual and business returns
  • Direct access to firm leadership
  • Clear path to senior-level work, review, and mentorship responsibility
  • CPA/EA exam and CPE support

The Opportunity

You’ll prepare a steady mix of individual and business returns, with the review and support you need to take on more complex work over time. Depending on your experience, you may also review the work of others and serve as a technical resource for the team. You’ll work in UltraTax, CoCounsel, Stanford Tax, Adobe, QuickBooks Online, and more.

Tax Preparation & Review

  • Prepare federal and state returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations, with trust, estate, and multi-state work as your experience allows

Client Service

  • Review client bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online and tie it to the return
  • Assist with IRS and state notices and correspondence
  • Develop long term client relationships based on trust, competence and responsiveness

Research & Growth

  • Research tax questions and apply the answers to real client situations
  • Support proactive tax planning conversations
  • Take on more complex work and client interaction as your skills grow
  • Help train and mentor newer team members (for more experienced candidates)

Required

  • 3 years of tax preparation experience, preferably in public accounting
  • Solid knowledge of individual and pass-through taxation
  • Experience with UltraTax or similar professional tax software
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Clear, professional communication with clients and colleagues

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Multi-state and tax planning skills
  • Experience reviewing work or mentoring staff

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
  • 401(k) matching
  • Health Insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • Flexible schedule
  • Paid time off

What Makes This Different?

At larger firms, tax professionals often get narrow, repetitive work or get lost in a long review chain. Here you’ll see the full return, have a voice in how we work, and grow at the pace your skills allow in a small, supportive office. Busy season is real, at approximately 55 hours a week, but the rest of the year is lighter, with half-day Fridays.
