Position Summary:
This role is critical in ensuring the integrity of financial operations, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will bring deep accounting expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proactive mindset to support the company’s growth and evolving financial structure.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations & Oversight
- Supervise Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Manage General Ledger (GL), AP, AR, and Fixed Asset functions.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare internal and external financial statements and management reports.
- Support the CFO in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in the preparation of board-level financial presentations.
Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate and support annual financial audits, including preparation of audit schedules and liaison with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial & legal requirements.
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead initiatives to improve accounting systems, processes, and reporting tools.
- Partner with IT and operations to implement ERP enhancements and automation.
- Ensure data integrity and system accuracy across financial platforms.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Act as a strategic partner to the CFO, providing insights and recommendations on financial matters.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and grower relations to support business objectives.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
· 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
· Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
· Proficiency in top-tier accounting and ERP systems preferred, including:
· Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
· SAP
· Oracle
· Advanced proficiency in Excel, Pivot Tables, Power BI and financial modeling.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
· Experience in agriculture, food production, or manufacturing industries is a plus.
Compensation:
Base Salary: $100-$120K
Annual bonus potential : 10-15%
