Roll-to-Sheet Converting Operator (Paper Sheeter)

You arrive to a clean, well-organized production floor and review the day’s schedule. You scan incoming paper rolls for defects, choose the optimal sequence of jobs, and set up the sheeter—dialing in slitters, anvils, belts, and joggers for precise sheet size and squareness. Throughout the shift, you combine compatible orders to boost throughput, keep a close eye on quality, and ensure every skid is labeled, wrapped, and ready right on time.

• Translate production specs into flawless, press-ready sheets from parent rolls.
• Prioritize and stage work based on the daily schedule to hit deadlines.
• Pre-inspect rolls for damage or defects prior to loading.
• Set up and fine-tune slitters, anvils, belts, and joggers to meet job requirements.
• Verify sheet dimensions, squareness, and overall quality during the entire run.
• Maximize efficiency by combining runs and drawing from existing sheeted inventory when appropriate.
• Track raw material usage; alert Purchasing when stock is low.
• Perform routine maintenance, including blade and slitter changes.
• Maintain accurate production and inventory records in company systems.
• Print and apply inventory labels; prepare finished skids for downstream processes.
• Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, stretch wrappers, banders, and scanners safely.
• Share know-how and help train teammates.
• Keep the area clean and adhere to all safety procedures.

• At least 3 years operating paper sheeters in commercial print, paper converting, or manufacturing.
• Solid knowledge of paper grades, sheeting methods, and production workflows.
• Proven experience on industrial sheeting equipment.
• Forklift and clamp truck proficiency.
• Comfort with basic computer input for production and inventory updates.
• Experience with ERP/manufacturing systems (Solar Soft a plus).
• Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to read production orders, work instructions, safety procedures, and manuals.
• Math skills: fractions, decimals, percentages, and measurements.
• Exceptional attention to detail and quality mindset.
• Self-directed, yet a strong collaborator with production and warehouse teams.

• Standing and walking for roughly 75% of the shift.
• Frequently lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Safe operation of powered industrial equipment.
• Working around moving machinery in a manufacturing setting.
