Folding Carton Die-Cutting Press Operator

Imagine stepping onto the production floor where precision, speed, and craftsmanship come together to build recognizable brands. At Oliver Inc., you’ll run modern die-cutting equipment and turn expertly printed sheets into beautifully finished folding cartons.

What a day looks like

You arrive for your shift, review the job ticket and CAD layout, verify materials, and begin your make-ready. You dial in the steel rule die and counter plates, fine-tune scoring and creasing for SBS, CCNB, or Kraft substrates, pull samples, and verify they meet tight tolerances. As the run continues, you monitor quality, make swift adjustments, and keep the line moving efficiently. Between jobs, you perform routine maintenance, swap stripping/blanking tools, and record key run data.

Your core responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate die-cutting machinery, including stripping and blanking operations.
• Complete accurate make-readies; pull and inspect samples; verify alignment and quality throughout the run.
• Perform preventative care and minor mechanical repairs to maintain uptime.
• Maintain a safe, efficient work area while collaborating with teammates in a fast-paced environment.

What you bring

• Experience as a Die Cutting Operator/Pressman in printing, packaging, or folding carton converting.
• Hands-on skill with steel rule dies, counter plates, make-ready materials, and stripping/blanking tools.
• Knowledge of paperboard substrates (SBS, CCNB, Kraft) and their impact on cutting, scoring, and creasing.
• Ability to read job tickets, dielines, CAD layouts, and quality specifications.
• Proven skill in quick, precise make-readies with minimal supervision.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability on die-cutting equipment; Bobst, Heidelberg, or similar experience preferred.
• Strong math and measuring skills for tight tolerances.
• Capacity to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and thrive in a manufacturing setting.
• A positive, team-first approach and strong work ethic.
