Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Oliver James have partnered exclusively with a highly successful, nationwide insurance group who specialise within the P&C Homeowners & Reinsurance sectors. They are a leading organisation within the Florida Insurance market and due to recent growth, they are seeking to hire a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join their growing team.

Our client, a renowned leader in the Insurance industry, is seeking a dedicated and ambitious Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join their dynamic finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare standard and complex monthly journal entries (i.e. investment, inter-company and elimination entries)
• Collaborate with team of associates within and outside the company
• Ensures assigned month-end close procedures are completed efficiently and timely (i.e. accruals, bank account, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.)
• Review financial statements for variances and provide explanations
• Assist with preparation of Form 10-K and 10-Q
• Prepare internal financial reports for CFO
• Prepare assigned audit work papers
• Assist with research and documentation of technical accounting matters
• Special projects and other ad hoc duties as assigned (e.g. XBRL, SEC reporting, budgeting, etc.)
  

• 5 years relevant work experience of which 3 years are at a senior accountant level
• Big Four experience preferred
• Familiar with revenue accounting standards (ASC 606)
• Highly proficient in writing technical accounting memos
• Expertise in consolidating financial statements
• Proficient in end-to-end preparation of financial statements
• CPA Qualification preferred
