Real Estate Accountant

A Commercial Real Estate firm in Orange County is looking for an Accountant to join their team!

The Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties. This role ensures the accuracy of financial records, prepares monthly reporting and reconciliations, supports budgeting activities, and works closely with property management teams to maintain compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly property financial statements and maintain supporting balance sheet schedules
• Record journal entries for accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and amortization
• Perform account reconciliations, including rent rolls, aged receivables, property taxes, insurance, and other key balance sheet accounts
• Review lease documentation, fixed assets, lease commissions, CAM reconciliations, and asset disposals to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Approve vendor invoices, assist with annual budgeting, and support month-end and year-end close processes
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 2-6 years of hands-on real estate accounting experience
• Experience with accounting systems and strong Excel skills
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
