Position Summary
The Designer II supports the organization by contributing to basic design projects, prototype creation, sales activities and general design room needs . This individual may work with both internal and external parties to create designs. The Designer I I must be highly creative, possess strong verbal and written skills, as well as possess acute attention to detail. This role requires proficient knowledge of both 2D and 3D software. Qualified applicants must also have strong communication skills with the ability to multi-task and work on a team .
Primary Responsibilities
General
Support the Oliver sales team and customers with proper design and drawing creation which can involve general phone/software support.
Marketing
Assist with the generation of marketing display samples such as CleanCut cards, printed lids and pouches, shelf cartons and shippers.
Quality
Assist QA with complaint investigations by researching and providing electronic design files
Follow basic rules and standards of design to ensure manufacturable / quality designs
Work with QA / SRD to review incoming customer specs
Interface with QA / SRD to ensure correct tolerances are listed on internal specs
Operations
If necessitated by customer application, work with Process Engineering teams for department approval on any incoming projects that have potential to fall outside typical production standards and tolerances
Supply Chain
Work with Oliver purchasing group to ensure needed R&D materials are stocked for current and upcoming projects ( i.e. tubing, flat HDPE, inks, 3D print material).
Support activities related to supplier CAPA’s
Safety
Ensure that all potentially hazardous materials in design room are properly labeled.
Ensure that all sampling making activities are performed safely and all new materials are evaluated for potential safety risks.
Preferred Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
This position operates mainly in the design room which is a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. This role also uses equipment in the production of product samples (cards, DISKs, shelf , shippers, etc …)

Primary Responsibilities
General
- Work in a fast-paced environment creating medical device packaging systems for sterile devices for medical device manufacturers.
- Proficient at creating structures or art along with attention to detailed dimensioning and geometry.
- Work directly with customers to review, revise if necessary and ultimately gain approval
- Develop and produce samples, photos, slides and videos
- Track and Inventory customer medical devices
- Responsible for daily / weekly maintenance of design room machines (UV printer, 3D printer, Cam table)
- Responsible for daily cleaning and housekeeping of design work areas
- Responsible for Requesting material from warehouse
- Facilitate shipping / receiving items for design room
- Capable of taking basic to mid-level complexity design projects from start to end
- May take on role of training new hires on basics
- Primary focus is design vs tooling and equipment support
- Some direct customer communication activities, but lean on design coordinators for majority of customer interfacing
- May at times engage in sales support activities such as sample making, graphics, etc …
- Attend design and project related meetings and take notes as required to ensure deliverables are documented and met.

Preferred Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- Associates Degree or certification in Design related field preferred.
- Experience: 3 years minimum
- Knowledge of packaging design and testing performance preferred
- Background in some form of art / art creation
- Experience with 2D and 3D software
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical (customer) communications / feedback
- Ability to write in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to speak effectively, present information and respond to questions in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work collaboratively with team
- Ability to comprehend and apply principles of mathematics
- Ability to comprehend and apply units of measure (Metric and Imperial System)
- Must have knowledge of applications such as AutoCad , Solidworks , Adobe Illustrator
- Ability to be a problem solver using comprehensive and creative thinking combined

Salary : $62,000 - $80,000
