About the Role
We’re searching for a dynamic Director of Operations to lead site-level manufacturing and operational excellence across our organization. This individual ensures the safe, efficient delivery of high-quality products to internal and external customers while driving continuous improvement in every corner of the operation.
This leader will oversee manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, warehousing, and more—setting the direction, establishing key performance targets, and guiding teams to achieve outstanding performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Growth, and Morale. The Director of Operations will also take on high-impact stretch assignments in alignment with the VP of Global Operations.
What You’ll Do
Safety
• Foster a strong safety culture built on accountability and low-risk behaviors.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental, OSHA, and local regulatory requirements, including documentation, training, and reporting.
Quality
• Develop and implement programs to deliver Six Sigma quality for internal and external customers.
• Drive compliance with cGMP and ISO 13485 standards.
• Reduce patient safety risk through effective FMEAs and control plans.
• Support CAPA activities—contain issues, investigate root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
• Build strong customer relationships through onsite visits and hosted engagements.
Delivery
• Lead and improve the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process with cross-functional partners.
• Meet or exceed lead time and On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) goals.
• Balance inventory optimization with service levels and operational productivity.
• Partner with commercial teams to expand organizational capability and capacity.
Productivity
• Champion lean sigma initiatives; audit compliance and track meaningful KPIs.
• Identify, prioritize, and recommend capital projects to strengthen the business.
• Introduce digital technologies that unlock breakthrough performance or sustainable results.
Morale & Leadership
• Model company values and help shape a culture grounded in customer focus, continuous improvement, clear thinking, empowerment, and teamwork.
• Share routine updates on performance and key site-level initiatives.
• Develop technical and communication skills across the workforce to ensure business continuity.
• Partner closely with HR to ensure consistent and thoughtful application of policies and programs.
Management
• Collaborate with global operations leadership to define and deploy operational strategy.
• Prepare operational plans, KPI targets, and budgets that drive meaningful impact.
• Work with finance to improve operating profit and cash flow.
• Lead stretch assignments aligned with organizational priorities.
• Participate in strategic planning to boost profitability, productivity, and efficiency.
• Continuously assess processes and introduce improvements where needed.
What You Bring
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical, Business, or related field.
• 10 years of manufacturing leadership experience, including multi-site responsibility.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated success implementing lean sigma and driving process optimization.
• Proven ability to build a continuous improvement culture.
• A proactive, results-oriented mindset with excellent attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA or advanced technical degree.
Working Conditions
• Prolonged periods working at a desk/computer.
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
• Availability for evening/weekend work when needed.
• 30% domestic and international travel required.
