Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Front Desk Receptionist/Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental practice. Duties
- Greet patients warmly, check them in and out efficiently, and manage appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Verify patient insurance information, process payments, and handle billing inquiries with transparency and professionalism
- Assist the dental team during procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and ensuring all clinical supplies are stocked
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to infection control protocols and radiation safety standards
- Record vital signs, medical history updates, and assist with medical documentation to ensure accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures by understanding pediatric-specific dental terminology and providing gentle chairside assistance during treatments such as endodontics or prosthodontics
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control standards, including sterilization of instruments and proper disposal of biohazard materials
- Assist with general dentistry procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort
- Manage patient flow effectively by coordinating appointments, follow-ups, and ensuring smooth communication between patients and the dental team
Experience
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred
- Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is essential for managing digital records efficiently
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices is required
- Hands-on experience with X-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanners, is desirable
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children is a plus
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy
- Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks such as vital signs measurement, medical coding for procedures, and supporting various specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics
