Missionary Assistant

Olive Branch Ministries is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Missionary Assistant to join us in hands-on ministry in Appalachia. This short-term role is a wonderful opportunity for someone with a heart for service, organizational skills, and a passion for community outreach. Olive Branch’s mission is to transition families and individuals from crisis to wholeness by sharing the peace of Christ’s presence. Some of the work would include new athletic shoe distributions, back to school assistance , and working with families in need. Each year since 2014 Olive Branch Ministries has collected Christmas boxes to brighten the season for children in some of America’s poorest counties. Last Christmas season nearly 5,000 Christmas boxes were collected by dedicated volunteers and distributed throughout Appalachia.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating and supporting volunteers
• Organizing back to school assistance
• Organizing and implementing shoe distributions
• Organizing and checking Christmas Boxes for Appalachia (learn more at www.christmasboxes.org)
• Shopping for needed supplies for Christmas projects
• Assisting with case management services and winter relief ministry as needed

• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Dependability, flexibility, and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
• Someone who enjoys working with people and helping meet community needs

Position Details:

• Temporary, part-time (20-35 hours per week) depending on the events that are planned and implemented
• Flexible schedule with some evenings/weekends required
• Begins August 17, 2026 and continues for approximately 4 months with the possibility of extending the position
• Compensation: $12.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursed at IRS rate
• A background check will be required if hired
