Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our hospice and palliative care team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive medical care to our patients under the supervision of a physician, helping them achieve comfort, dignity, and peace.
Responsibilities
As a Hospice and Palliative Nurse Practitioner at Olive Branch Hospice, you will:
- Conduct face-to-face hospice visits for admissions and recertifications as an extension of the attending physician.
- Perform palliative care visits, offering symptom management and emotional support.
- Conduct complete physical examinations and provide appropriate treatment plans.
- Counsel patients and families, helping them navigate complex medical decisions with compassion.
- Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests as needed.
- Recommend and administer therapeutic procedures to alleviate discomfort.
- Prescribe medications or therapies in collaboration with the supervising physician.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with compliance and care standards.
- Serve as a compassionate presence and resource for families throughout the patient’s care journey.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Georgia.
- Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care (preferred or required).
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Deep compassion and empathy for patients and families in end-of-life care.
