We are a breakfast/lunch sandwich shop/coffee shop located in downtown Butler. We are looking for front of house employees for shifts 9AM-3PM Tuesday - Saturday.
Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and customer-oriented Barista/Counter Service Employee to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment. You will also be responsible for cashing customers out, running food to tables, and bussing tables. All responsibilities of a front of house job.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and food items according to established recipes and customer preferences.
- Operate the Square POS system for order processing and cash handling.
- Manage cash register operations, including processing payments and providing accurate change.
- Maintain cleanliness of the coffee bar area, equipment, and dining space in accordance with food safety standards.
- Assist customers with menu selections, provide recommendations, and address any inquiries or concerns.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; restock as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.
- Adhere to all food handling guidelines and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
Skills
- Strong cash handling skills with attention to detail in transactions.
- Previous experience in food service or retail is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of retail math for inventory management and sales tracking.
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and passion for the beverage industry is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide help and support to customers effectively.
